About IAMS Summer School 2025

We are excited to announce the date for the upcoming Institute of Archaeometallurgical Studies (IAMS) 2025 summer school, taking place in Beijing, China, from September 18th to 23rd, 2025.

Theme: Archaeometallurgy of East Asia

This week-long event will offer an outstanding opportunity for students and early-career researchers to learn from leading international experts in the field of archaeometallurgy. Through lectures, workshops, and discussions, participants will delve into the rich metallurgical traditions of East Asia and engage with current research and methodologies.

Whether you’re new to archaeometallurgy or looking to deepen your knowledge, we hope you will join us for what promises to be a highly informative and inspiring experience.

Both time and topic of this year’s iams summer school are designed to match the 11th BUMA conference, with Wed 24 September scheduled to facilitate transfer to Quanzhou for those who want to participate in both events.
